A top price for Nam June Paik - as previously expected
In October 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction #TTTOP, which included the work Fat Boy by Nam June Paik. It changed hands for a price of HKD 4,280,000.00 (€ 503,667.21) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 3,500,000.00 – 4,500,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Fat Boy is the most expensive artwork by Nam June Paik that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Oktober 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion #TTTOP durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fat Boy von Nam June Paik zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 4.280.000,00 (€ 503.667,21) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 3.500.000,00 – 4.500.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Fat Boy das teuerste Kunstwerk von Nam June Paik, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
