Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary African Art, which included this untitled work by Ouattara Watts. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,276.00 (€ 3,881.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ouattara Watts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Afro Beat in May last year with an auction result of USD 781,200.00 (€ 727,984.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ouattara Watts zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.276,00 (€ 3.881,18) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ouattara Watts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Afro Beat im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 781.200,00 (€ 727.984,34).
