Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the cliffs by Otto Theodore Leyde was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 943.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Otto Theodore Leyde have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Day's Work Done in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,893.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On the cliffs von Otto Theodore Leyde kam im März 2009 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 943,56) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Otto Theodore Leyde auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Day's Work Done im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.893,20).
