Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2015 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Ships and Shell by Karl Knaths. The price achieved of USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,728.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Karl Knaths - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lilacs, which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 34,000.00 (€ 23,500.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ships and Shell von Karl Knaths zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.728,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Karl Knaths mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lilacs beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 34.000,00 (€ 23.500,14) versteigert wurde.
