Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Otto Ottesen could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the THE HOUSE SALE auction, the work A garland of flowers surrounding a marble relief, after The Book of Life by Thorvaldsen changed hands for USD 600.00 (€ 497.59) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otto Ottesen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blumenstrauss mit Widmung an die Balletttänzerin Lucile Grahn (1819–1907). 1844. in March 2017 with an auction result of CHF 46,100.00 (€ 43,100.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Otto Ottesen konnte im September 2005 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion THE HOUSE SALE wechselte die Arbeit A garland of flowers surrounding a marble relief, after The Book of Life by Thorvaldsen für USD 600,00 (€ 497,59) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Otto Ottesen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blumenstrauss mit Widmung an die Balletttänzerin Lucile Grahn (1819–1907). 1844. im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 46.100,00 (€ 43.100,79).
