Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Untitled, 2017 by Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe. The price achieved of GBP 35,250.00 (€ 41,792.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shade of Black in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 212,332.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 2017 von Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 35.250,00 (€ 41.792,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shade of Black im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 212.332,26).
