Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Kill them with my innocence by Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe. It changed hands for a price of GBP 17,750.00 (€ 21,028.96) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shade of Black in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 212,332.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kill them with my innocence von Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 17.750,00 (€ 21.028,96) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shade of Black im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 212.332,26).
