Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary East, which included the work Georgian on The Roof by Otar Chkhartishvili. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,700.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Otar Chkhartishvili have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Georgian informer in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,753.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary East durch, in der auch die Arbeit Georgian on The Roof von Otar Chkhartishvili zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.700,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Otar Chkhartishvili auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Georgian informer im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.753,47).
