Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bildnis Alfred Marnau by Oskar Kokoschka was sold in the ExpressionismGermany, Austria and Beyond auction at Bonhams in London in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 4,409.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oskar Kokoschka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Joseph De Montesquiou-Fezensac in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 20,395,200.00 (€ 18,012,187.58).
