Despite a disappointment, a good price for Oscar Parkes

When the work H.M.S. Southampton at the Battle of Jutland, 31st May 1916 by Oscar Parkes was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 940.00 (€ 1,495.84). Despite this disappointing result, H.M.S. Southampton at the Battle of Jutland, 31st May 1916 is the most expensive artwork by Oscar Parkes that we have observed at auction so far.

Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Oscar Parkes

Als die Arbeit H.M.S. Southampton at the Battle of Jutland, 31st May 1916 von Oscar Parkes im November 2001 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
