Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work The Veterans: H.M.S. St. Vincent, H.M.S. Victory And H.M.S. Duke of Wellington Lying On Their Permanent Moorings In Portsmouth Harbour by Oscar Parkes for GBP 60.00 (€ 88.92). This price was achieved in the auction MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oscar Parkes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work H.M.S. Southampton at the Battle of Jutland, 31st May 1916 in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 940.00 (€ 1,495.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Veterans: H.M.S. St. Vincent, H.M.S. Victory And H.M.S. Duke of Wellington Lying On Their Permanent Moorings In Portsmouth Harbour von Oscar Parkes für GBP 60,00 (€ 88,92) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Oscar Parkes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit H.M.S.
