Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ritratto Di Uomo by Oscar Ghiglia was auctioned at Sothebys in Milan in December 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 12,500.00. Admittedly, works by Oscar Ghiglia have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Natura morta con calle ed arance in December 2003 with an auction result of EUR 99,200.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Ritratto Di Uomo von Oscar Ghiglia im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in Mailand versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 12.500,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oscar Ghiglia auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Natura morta con calle ed arance im Dezember 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 99.200,00.
