Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Oscar Matthiesen could be acquired at Christies in London in February 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction, the work When the boats come in changed hands for GBP 352.50 (€ 514.64) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by Oscar Matthiesen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The ratman in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,931.05).
