A top price for Oscar Matthiesen - as previously expected
The work The ratman by Oscar Matthiesen was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,931.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The ratman is the most expensive artwork by Oscar Matthiesen that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit The ratman von Oscar Matthiesen kam im September 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.931,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist The ratman das teuerste Kunstwerk von Oscar Matthiesen, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
