Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled 1 to 5 (A Train Journey from Cracow to Auschwitz), de la série 'White Noise', Pologne, 1999-2000 by Ori Gersht was auctioned at Christies in Paris in June 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 12,500.00. Admittedly, works by Ori Gersht have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled 5 from Blow Up in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 107,100.00 (€ 92,711.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled 1 to 5 (A Train Journey from Cracow to Auschwitz), de la série 'White Noise', Pologne, 1999-2000 von Ori Gersht im Juni 2019 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 12.500,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ori Gersht auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled 5 from Blow Up im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 92.711,22).
