In February 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art, which included the work Italian the Masterpiece Revealed by Oreste Cortazzo. The »bidding war« ended at USD 37,500.00 (€ 30,710.02), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oreste Cortazzo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Masterpiece Revealed, which sold at auction in June 2010 for USD 80,500.00 (€ 65,495.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Italian the Masterpiece Revealed von Oreste Cortazzo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 30.710,02) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Oreste Cortazzo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Masterpiece Revealed beobachtet, die im Juni 2010 für USD 80.500,00 (€ 65.495,08) versteigert wurde.
