The work The Flight of Daedalus and Icarus by Orazio Samacchini was worth GBP 216,000.00 (€ 320,809.86) to a buyer in July 2007. This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Orazio Samacchini; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Baptism Of Christ sold at auction in April 2021 with the realized price of USD 487,500.00 (€ 405,236.91).
