Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Saint Christopher Carrying the Infant Christ by Orazio Borgianni. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 87,500.00 (€ 77,909.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Orazio Borgianni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christ Amongst The Doctors in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,401,250.00 (€ 4,332,278.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Christopher Carrying the Infant Christ von Orazio Borgianni zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 77.909,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Orazio Borgianni erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Christ Amongst The Doctors im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.401.250,00 (€ 4.332.278,32).
