Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work A Study Of A Woman, Head And Shoulders, Possibly Saint Mary Magdalene by Orazio Borgianni for USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,477.12). This price was achieved in the auction Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Orazio Borgianni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christ Amongst The Doctors in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,401,250.00 (€ 4,332,278.32).
