Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Om Prakash Sharma could be acquired at Sothebys in London in June 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art including Indian Miniature Paintings auction, this work without title changed hands for GBP 1,188.00 (€ 1,471.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Om Prakash Sharma - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bawal Village, which sold at auction in September 2005 for USD 3,600.00 (€ 2,985.57).
