Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work The fisherman's tales by Oliver Rhys. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,307.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oliver Rhys - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Venetian Fruit Seller, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,166.49).

Im Dezember 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The fisherman's tales von Oliver Rhys zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.307,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Oliver Rhys mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Venetian Fruit Seller beobachtet, die im November 2006 für GBP 15.600,00 (€ 23.166,49) versteigert wurde.
