Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work One Eye Open by Oh de Laval was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 53,340.00 (€ 6,450.47). Admittedly, works by Oh de Laval have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Theatre in March this year with an auction result of HKD 254,000.00 (€ 29,740.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit One Eye Open von Oh de Laval im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 53.340,00 (€ 6.450,47) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oh de Laval auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Theatre im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 254.000,00 (€ 29.740,80).
