Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sir Rex Benson Shooting Pintail Over The Castle Loch, South Uist by Ogden Minton Pleissner was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2009. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 34,886.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ogden Minton Pleissner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Down's Gulch, which sold at auction in December 2005 for USD 84,000.00 (€ 70,933.96).

Die Arbeit Sir Rex Benson Shooting Pintail Over The Castle Loch, South Uist von Ogden Minton Pleissner kam im Dezember 2009 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 34.886,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ogden Minton Pleissner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Down's Gulch beobachtet, die im Dezember 2005 für USD 84.000,00 (€ 70.933,96) versteigert wurde.
