Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tranquilité Au Jardin by Octave Guillonnet was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in London in January 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,318.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Octave Guillonnet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A siesta in the shade, which sold at auction in June 2004 for GBP 14,340.00 (€ 21,342.22).

Die Arbeit Tranquilité Au Jardin von Octave Guillonnet wurde im Januar 2015 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.318,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Octave Guillonnet mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A siesta in the shade beobachtet, die im Juni 2004 für GBP 14.340,00 (€ 21.342,22) versteigert wurde.
