Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Norman Lindsay could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in August this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionThe Artist's Eye auction, the work Study for Homage to Venus changed hands for AUD 6,765.00 (€ 4,036.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norman Lindsay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Springs Innocence in November 2002 with an auction result of AUD 329,000.00 (€ 185,534.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Norman Lindsay konnte im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionThe Artist's Eye wechselte die Arbeit Study for Homage to Venus für AUD 6.765,00 (€ 4.036,91) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Norman Lindsay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Springs Innocence im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 329.000,00 (€ 185.534,53).
