Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work 'The chalk quarry' by Norman Garstin. The price achieved of GBP 4,845.00 (€ 5,614.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Norman Garstin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Morning Lesson in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 36,500.00 (€ 49,597.31).
