This artwork by Norman Edgar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2002. In the British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures auction, the work View over Largs sold for GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,722.85) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Norman Edgar; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The annual Glasgow Art Club, Picnic at Blairquhan sold at auction in May 2007 with the realized price of GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,476.23).
