Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Seth Thomas Clock by Norman Blamey was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,395.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Norman Blamey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Confession and Absolution in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 16,312.50 (€ 17,987.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Seth Thomas Clock von Norman Blamey kam im November 2021 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.040,00 (€ 2.395,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Norman Blamey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Confession and Absolution im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.312,50 (€ 17.987,18).
