Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Falling Angels by Norman Lindsay was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 30,470.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Norman Lindsay have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Springs Innocence in November 2002 with an auction result of AUD 329,000.00 (€ 185,534.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Falling Angels von Norman Lindsay kam im September 2015 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 30.470,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Norman Lindsay auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Springs Innocence im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 329.000,00 (€ 185.534,53).
