Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Adventure by Norman Lindsay was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,494.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norman Lindsay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Springs Innocence in November 2002 with an auction result of AUD 329,000.00 (€ 185,534.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Adventure von Norman Lindsay kam im September 2013 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.494,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Norman Lindsay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Springs Innocence im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 329.000,00 (€ 185.534,53).
