Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le port de Bordeaux by Norbert Goeneutte was sold in the Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve auction at Christies in London in May this year. The price achieved of USD 22,680.00 (€ 21,287.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Norbert Goeneutte - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Salon Japonais, which sold at auction in March 2010 for USD 80,500.00 (€ 59,515.01).
