Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Nigerian ona Edo by Nnenna Okore. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,572.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nnenna Okore - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ashjoke, which sold at auction in October this year for GBP 26,880.00 (€ 30,865.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nigerian ona Edo von Nnenna Okore zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.572,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Nnenna Okore mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ashjoke beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für GBP 26.880,00 (€ 30.865,71) versteigert wurde.
