This artwork by Nnenna Okore achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October this year. In the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction, the work Ashjoke sold for GBP 26,880.00 (€ 30,865.71) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. This high result makes Ashjoke the most expensive artwork by Nnenna Okore that we have observed at auctions so far.
