Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Achi by Nnenna Okore. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,825.00 (€ 11,798.09) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nnenna Okore - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ashjoke, which sold at auction in October this year for GBP 26,880.00 (€ 30,865.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Achi von Nnenna Okore zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 13.825,00 (€ 11.798,09) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Nnenna Okore mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ashjoke beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für GBP 26.880,00 (€ 30.865,71) versteigert wurde.
