The »bidding war« ended at EUR 3,760.00 71% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Nishimura Nantei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Five Beauties in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 23,900.00 (€ 19,247.81).

Die Arbeit Nantei Gafu, (The Drawing Book of Nantei), 3 vols., original light blue covers, with designs of embossed butterflies and foliage; precafe, 2 sheets, dated Kinoe ne (1804); illustration of figures in sumi, with kyoka poems, sheets numbered 1-18; Vol.2: she von Nishimura Nantei wurde im November 2001 in der Auktion CHINESE AND JAPANESE CERAMICS AND WORKS OF ART bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.760,00 und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nishimura Nantei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Five Beauties im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.900,00 (€ 19.247,81).
