Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2009 Christies in London held the auction Japanese Art & Design, which included the work Nantei gafu kohen The Drawing Book of Nantei, 1 vol., signed Nishimura Nantei ga, preface dated 1823, colophon dated 1826, containing 30 double-page illustrations of people of the Kyoto area, good impression and colour, light staining and rubbing to lower by Nishimura Nantei. The price achieved of GBP 687.50 (€ 752.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nishimura Nantei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Five Beauties in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 23,900.00 (€ 19,247.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2009 führte Christies in London die Auktion Japanese Art & Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nantei gafu kohen The Drawing Book of Nantei, 1 vol., signed Nishimura Nantei ga, preface dated 1823, colophon dated 1826, containing 30 double-page illustrations of people of the Kyoto area, good impression and colour, light staining and rubbing to lower von Nishimura Nantei zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 687,50 (€ 752,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nishimura Nantei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Five Beauties im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.900,00 (€ 19.247,81).
