A top price for Nishimura Nantei - as previously expected
The work Five Beauties by Nishimura Nantei was sold in the Japanese and Korean Works of Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2004. The price achieved of USD 23,900.00 (€ 19,247.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Five Beauties is the most expensive artwork by Nishimura Nantei that we have observed at auctions so far.
