Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Landscape by Nikos Xenos. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 900.00 (€ 1,313.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Nikos Xenos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greek A Rocky Beach in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 6,126.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2006 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion The Greek Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape von Nikos Xenos zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 900,00 (€ 1.313,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nikos Xenos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Greek A Rocky Beach im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 6.126,13).
