Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Wolf Hunt by Nikolai Sverchkov was sold in the Russian Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in June 2016. The price achieved of GBP 185,000.00 (€ 222,060.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nikolai Sverchkov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Emperor Alexander II And Kaiser Wilhelm I In A Carriage With A View Of The Peter-Paul Fortress, St. Petersburg, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 341,250.00 (€ 490,886.28).
