Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Returning from bear hunting by Nikolai Sverchkov was sold in the Russian Art auction at Christies in London in June 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 218,500.00 (€ 308,082.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Nikolai Sverchkov have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2004 the work Emperor Alexander II And Kaiser Wilhelm I In A Carriage With A View Of The Peter-Paul Fortress, St. Petersburg was auctioned for GBP 341,250.00 (€ 490,886.28).
