Auction result misses estimated price range
In January this year a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Town Scene) by Nikifor for USD 1,386.00 (€ 1,276.48). This price was achieved in the auction Outsider and Vernacular Art at Christies and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nikifor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Village Square in Krynica, Poland framed 30.5 x 35.5 x 1.5 cm (12 x 14 x 3/4 in)., which sold at auction in November this year for USD 3,200.00 (€ 2,933.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Town Scene) von Nikifor für USD 1.386,00 (€ 1.276,48) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art bei Christies erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Nikifor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Village Square in Krynica, Poland framed 30.5 x 35.5 x 1.5 cm (12 x 14 x 3/4 in). beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für USD 3.200,00 (€ 2.933,63) versteigert wurde.
