Auction result fails to reach estimate
When the work Riots in a North African town by Niels Simonsen was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously set the estimate at DKK 6,000.00, but this failed to be met - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 2,600.00 (€ 348.37). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Niels Simonsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Turkish sailors on watch in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 55,535.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt den Schätzpreis
Als die Arbeit Riots in a North African town von Niels Simonsen im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit DKK 6.000,00 angegeben, den dieses Werk bei seiner Versteigerung leider nicht erreichen konnte - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 2.600,00 (€ 348,37) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Niels Simonsen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Turkish sailors on watch im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 55.535,21).
