In June 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings Including German, Austrian and Central European Paintings, The Orientalist Sale, Spanish Painting and the Scandinavian Sale, which included the work Dan isharab Warrior And His Steed by Niels Simonsen. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 20,000.00 (€ 24,321.86), 33% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Niels Simonsen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Turkish sailors on watch, which sold at auction in December 2016 for GBP 47,500.00 (€ 55,535.21).

Im Juni 2010 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings Including German, Austrian and Central European Paintings, The Orientalist Sale, Spanish Painting and the Scandinavian Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dan isharab Warrior And His Steed von Niels Simonsen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 24.321,86) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Niels Simonsen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Turkish sailors on watch beobachtet, die im Dezember 2016 für GBP 47.500,00 (€ 55.535,21) versteigert wurde.
