Sold at the lower estimate price
In December 2015 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Bust-Length, In A Black Doublet And White Collar by Nicolas Régnier. The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 13,579.52) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolas Régnier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Jerome in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 468,500.00 (€ 413,430.99).
