Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Nicolas Ionesco was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 937.50 (€ 674.75). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicolas Ionesco - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in July 2008 for USD 2,750.00 (€ 1,764.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Nicolas Ionesco im Oktober 2010 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 937,50 (€ 674,75) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Nicolas Ionesco mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Juli 2008 für USD 2.750,00 (€ 1.764,06) versteigert wurde.
