Sold at the lower estimate price
In January 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art, which included the work The Death Of Adonis by Nicolas Bertin. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,714.79) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nicolas Bertin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Adam et Ève chassés du jardin d'Eden in December 2019 with an auction result of EUR 107,500.00.
