In June 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art Including Select Works From the Salander-O'Reilly Galleries, which included the work Alexander the Great's conquest in northwestern India by Nicolas-André Monsiau. The result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 48,816.21) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Alexander the Great's conquest in northwestern India is the most expensive artwork by Nicolas-André Monsiau that we have observed at auctions so far.
