Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work De Roestbak: shipwarf the Walvis, Amsterdam by Nicolaas Wijnberg was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,875.00. Admittedly, works by Nicolaas Wijnberg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work At the beach in September 2008 with an auction result of EUR 10,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit De Roestbak: shipwarf the Walvis, Amsterdam von Nicolaas Wijnberg im September 2009 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.875,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nicolaas Wijnberg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit At the beach im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 10.000,00.
