In March 2002 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work De boomgaard - The orchard by Nicolaas Mathieu Eekman. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 3,525.00 60% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nicolaas Mathieu Eekman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot La jeune et la vieille - The young and the old woman sold at auction in July 2003 with the realized price of EUR 4,541.00.

Im März 2002 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit De boomgaard - The orchard von Nicolaas Mathieu Eekman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.525,00 und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Nicolaas Mathieu Eekman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit La jeune et la vieille - The young and the old woman im Juli 2003 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 4.541,00.
