Die Arbeit A Cottage Interior von Nicolaas Bastert kam im März 2007 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 1.680,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicolaas Bastert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The river Vecht in Autumn im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 19.200,00.
